In this video, we look at how to interpret a mass spectrum, including fragmentation patterns. First we look at a basic mass spectrum. We look at what is meant by the molecular ion peak and the M+1 peak. We then look at how organic molecules can break up or fragment and how we can interpret fragmentation patterns.
