In this video, we look at kidney dialysis, which is also called haemodialysis. First we look at how a kidney dialysis machine works. We focus on the concentration gradients established between the blood and the dialysis fluid and why this is an example of a countercurrent exchange system. We then look at peritoneal dialysis.
