In this video, we look at electrophilic addition of a halogen to alkenes. First we look at how halogen molecules are different to hydrogen halides in terms of bond polarity. We then explore how this affects the reaction mechanism for electrophilic addition. Finally, we look at why adding a halogen to an asymmetric alkene results in only one product.
