In this video, we look at the electrophilic addition of hydrogen halide to alkenes. First we look at the bond polarity in hydrogen halide molecules. We then explore the mechanism for the reaction between hydrogen halide molecules and alkenes such as ethene. I show you what is meant by an electrophile and heterolytic fission.
