In this video, we look at the properties of group 2 compounds. First we explore the solubility of group 2 sulfates. We look at how barium sulfate is used as a "barium meal" during X rays of the digestive system and how barium chloride can be used to test for sulfate ions. Finally, we look at group 2 carbonates and nitrates and why they become more thermally stable moving down group 2.
