ACRL 2021 – Systemic Oppression Requires Systemic Change

ACRL 2021 Invited Presenters Jennifer Ferretti, Charlotte Roh, and Jennifer Brown discuss their presentation "Systemic Oppression Requires Systemic Change: Recasting the Roles of Academic Libraries in Contemporary Contexts." The session is scheduled for Thursday, April 15, 2021, from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m. Central.

"Systemic Oppression Requires Systemic Change" examines the ways in which academic libraries have erected unnecessary boundaries that stifle BIPOC workers, cause inequitable pay gaps, neutralize progressive race-related legislation and policy, encourage toxic work environments, and more, all while repackaging and oversimplifying solutions to systemic oppressions that bedrock our field.
