AfricaPCR – What’s making the 2023 edition so new and special?

Dejan Milasinovic interviews #AfricaPCR Course Directors Farrel Hellig and Azeem Latib about what’s making the 2023 edition of the practical interventional cardiology Course so unique.

They explain how the structure and content of this year’s Course is based on a wide-scale needs analysis carried out by the Board Members all across Africa. The analysis highlighted different educational needs in different African regions, including those with little or no access to technologies, or where patients are hundreds or thousands of kilometers from the nearest cardiac centre.

The Scientific Programme is therefore tailored for all those involved in the patient’s journey: general practitioners, nurses and allied professionals as well as interventional cardiologists and surrounding teams. It is being purpose-built for both on-site and online participants, in order to cater for those unable to travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, on 3-4 March 2023.

Hot topics will include: renal denervation, TAVI, femoral access challenges, calcified lesion, pulmonary balloon valvuloplasty, blue baby, left main bifurcation, coils and snares, STEMI and multi-vessel disease.
