CLOSING THE GAP BETWEEN URBAN & RURAL SCHOOLS THROUGH ONLINE SEMINARS

This video showcases our plan to close the gap between the urban and rural schools in Uganda taking advantage of the available technology infrastructure. The leadership within our schools is a key player in this because they make or break the possibility of sharing teaching and learning resources across schools. The Holistic eLearning Project (HeLP) is in its infancy but determined to make this happen starting with the most ready schools and building a case study that will attract more schools into collaborating with the others. The Uganda Communications Commission(UCC) in partnership with the Research Education Network Uganda(RENU) are improving the internet connectivity within schools and so far 60 schools have been covered. If it was not for the Covid-19 pandemic, we had hope to have 100 schools covered by the end of 2020. The plan is to connect many more schools within the next five years if the already covered schools make use of the internet provided. This is where HeLP is a promising venture and we encourage you to take off 42min and listen to our initial engagement of schools.
