A fluid is a substance that has no fixed shape. Fluids include liquids and gases. Fluids can be characterized by their density, which is defined as the ratio of mass to volume. The ideal fluid model assumes a fluid is incompressible (same density everywhere) and has no viscosity (no resistance to flow).
