Dr. Harrison Keller, Commissioner of Higher Education for the State of Texas, and Daniel Williamson, Managing Director of OpenStax, welcomed all attendees to the conference. In their welcome, they highlighted the conference theme — Moving Forward — and explained what it means to move forward with open educational resources at the center of teaching and learning experiences. Following the welcome, there was an opening keynote panel discussion, titled Helping OER to Thrive on Your Campus. Higher education administrators, OER coordinators, librarians, and teaching and learning center representatives, will share their perspectives on the structures necessary for OER to be created, adopted, and have an impact at an institution.
