“When the Women’s Liberation came about, [I] liberated myself out of ancient sexual molds, out of societal molds, and I wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”

Jewish Holocaust survivor, Alice Resseguie, was born in Germany in 1921. Alice was interviewed in Oregon, USA in 1995.

In her testimony, Alice praises the Women’s Liberation Movement of the 1970s, and discusses the joy of being an American woman in the 1990s.

“I think it’s wonderful for men to hold the door for me, but I want the law to tell me that I don’t have to be unequal in anything. [Now,] I find that the door is open and there isn’t anything, as long as I have my health, that I can’t do.”

March is Women’s History Month in the United States.
