At first glance, Vestavia Hills City Schools in Alabama does not seem to have much in common with Pflugerville Independent School District in Texas. Vestavia Hills is a Birmingham suburb; Pflugerville sits in Austin’s fast-growing metro region. The Texas district has 34 schools and 25,600 students, nearly four times Vestavia Hills’ nine schools and 7,100 students.
With schools today supporting thousands of devices and facing myriad cybersecurity threats, often with lean IT teams, these districts do share something: an enterprise-level approach to K–12 networking.
