This is just my thoughts and reviews of the iPadOS and iOS version of XCOM 2: War of the Chosen. It was released in November 2020.
The released iOS and iPadOS version is renamed to XCOM 2 Collection. Its price is $24.99 which is quite expensive compared to other iOS games. However, I think it is a fair price considering how fun this game is.
The game size is about 2GB for the game file + 2GB extra downloading data for the initial game run. You may also need an extra 4 to 6GB of storage to store game data once you start playing it.
The navigation through the game is mostly similar to what you do on a Windows or Mac computer. The slight difference is that in XCOM 1 the Enemy within, you cannot command the second soldier to move yet if the first soldier is on the move. However, for XCOM 2, you can click on the second soldier to move even if the first soldier is still on the move.
Even though the graphic details are not as awesome as on the Windows computers, it is still very smooth, really fantastic to see. Another thing to note is that although this game supports older devices like iPhone 7 plus or iPad Pro 2017, it is highly recommended if you run it on the 2019 or 2020 iDevices for a much smoother and more immersive experience.
Overall, I think if you love XCOM game and want a mobile version of it, you won’t regret buying this game despite its expensive price.
