Goal:


Increase the quality, capacity and sharing of online teaching and learning, resulting in increases in enrollment and retention within campuses’ online & blended degree and certificate programs.

ATS Strategies for Online Education:

  • Collaboratively develop and deliver professional development opportunities in using technologies for faculty to:

    • develop and deliver online and blended courses that meet quality standards (i.e., QLT, QM)
    • implement virtual labs or other online technologies, ensuring student engagement, for example, through inquiry-based and/or project-based learning
    • Apply
      Universal Design for Learning principles and instructional materials accessibility to ensure all students have equitable opportunities to learn and succeed
  • Collaboratively deliver and support online technologies that strengthen:

    • advising services for students’ readiness to succeed in online education
    • academic integrity of student performance in online and blended courses
    • and use innovative technologies and partners to enable easy discovery online programs and courses across the CSU
  • Collaboratively develop and implement marketing and outreach campaigns for online programs with:

    • strategies to increase enrollment, retention and degree completion
    • innovative technologies and partners to enable easy discovery online programs and courses across the CSU
  • Collaboratively develop, deliver and support systemwide programs to increase the impact and reach of the CSU’s online education, including:


    • Cal State Online Complete – campus-based, degree completion programs
    • online degree and certificate workforece development programs for adult learners
  • Acquire grants to support development and implementation of innovations
  • Research and assessment of outcomes of innovations and programs
