Rachel works harder than anyone on her basketball team, but she just can’t make a shot – or a friend. When her teammates won’t stop making fun of her, she breaks down and admits that she hates playing basketball. Rachel is on the autism spectrum and she says exactly what’s on her mind – no filter! With the support of her parents she joins a bowling league for kids on the autism spectrum and she finally feels accepted.

Run Jump Play is an animated series about children on the autism spectrum who find courage, friendship, and fun while playing sports; five heroes and five inspiring stories that bust myths, smash stereotypes and celebrate the autism spectrum.

For people with autism, fitness and physical activity can be difficult. Oversensitivity to sights, sounds, and tactile stimuli can be a barrier, as can limits or delays in motor coordination and planning. Team sports can be especially challenging for kids with autism, who may have trouble with communication and social interaction. Further, common myths and discrimination about autism can keep kids on the sidelines. Run Jump Play dispels these myths, and provides tools for children, parents, and coaches to understand and communicate with autistic children.
