Sinti and Roma people were persecuted during the Holocaust, alongside Jewish and other other targeted groups. Sinti and Roma people are often referred to as “gypsies,” a term acknowledged today as an offensive slur.

In this clip, Sinti and Roma Holocaust survivor, Wellesina McCrary, recalls her childhood before World War II, traveling around Europe with her family, and the vibrant Sinti and Roma culture.
