Rachel Gottstein was born in Krakow, Poland in 1936. She survived the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, Breslau concentration camp, Krakau-Plaszow concentration camp, Ravensbrück concentration camp, and a death march. Rachel was liberated by British armed forces at Bergen-Belsen.

In this clip, Rachel recalls “Appell” (“roll call”) and selections at the Krakau concentration camp.

Rachel was 60 years old when she was interviewed by USC Shoah Foundation in 1996.
