UGA prepares STEM students for rapidly changing future

The number of University of Georgia undergraduate students in STEM disciplines has risen about 20 percent in the past five years. In fall 2018 along, 11,832 (40 percent of the student body) declared a major in science, technology, engineering or mathematics. Combine this surge with the recent launch of UGA’s Innovation District and construction beginning on the I-STEM Research Building, one can see the STEM momentum growing on campus. The increase in STEM-related majors matches national trends.
