A recording of the June 9th ACRL Together Wherever Presentation, Flip the Deficit Script: First-year student interviews about everyday life research can change your instruction.
Everyone is strengths-basing! Based on two recent publications in Reference Services Review (2019) and the Journal of Information Literacy (forthcoming, 2020), the authors will lead participants in an engaging session on constructiveness, strengths-based and positive psychology theories in action. Learn how a strengths-based approach can transform your teaching. This approach values the uniqueness of learners’ perspectives and builds on their prior knowledge and experiences. Join us for an interactive session to articulate, identify, and create strengths-based activities that improve the learner experience in the classroom, research consultation and workplace.
