Full transcript:

We’re excited to launch an early preview of BrainPOP’s new NGSS-aligned middle school science product, codenamed Project Beaker. In Project Beaker, content is organized into Investigations, which allow students to explore science phenomena through the BrainPOP science content they know and love, while making it easy for teachers to prepare rich lessons for teaching science to 21st century standards, whether they’re in a classroom or teaching from a distance.

Students start each Investigation with a thought-provoking driving question around a phenomenon and in each lesson, explore related guiding questions and complete activities that help solidify the concepts. To meet every student where they are, BrainPOP resources help ensure students have the foundational knowledge needed to successfully complete the Investigation.

Diverse activities built into the Investigations provide teachers with flexibility to pick and choose activities to best meet their students’ needs, while also providing students with multiple ways to learn, explore, and show what they know. Investigations include 3D Worlds where students can engage in scientific practices, Data Manipulatives that let students explore real data to draw conclusions, Simulations where students collect evidence and test hypotheses, and hands-on activities to allow students to apply scientific reasoning to answer guiding questions.

We know this is an especially challenging time for teachers and students and with that in mind, we’re releasing our first 3 Investigations early and allowing teachers to sign up for limited-time free access. Sign up at https://www.projectbeaker.com if you want to take a look, and we’d love to hear what you think.
