In 1940, Denmark was invaded by Nazi Germany. In October of 1943, approximately 7,200 Jews escaped from Denmark to Sweden to evade persecution. In his testimony, Jewish survivor, Leo Goldberger, recalls the heroic actions of the Danish resistance, and living in Sweden as a Danish refugee.
