Holocaust survivor, Gerald Szames, was interviewed in 2022 as part of USC Shoah Foundation’s Last Chance Testimony Collection Initiative.

There are 50,000 Holocaust survivors living in the United States today. Many of them have never shared their stories. As long as there are still Holocaust witnesses ready to speak, their voices must be heard. Time is running out. We must act now to collect the remaining testimonies of Holocaust witnesses, before it is too late. Gerald is among the first Holocaust survivors to record testimony in the new Ceci Chan and Lila Sorkin Memory Studio at the Institute’s international headquarters on the USC campus in Los Angeles. The facility is the Institute’s first in-house studio in its 29-year history. On-site interview locations are also available in West Palm Beach and Washington DC.
