LinkedIn profiles are a crucial piece of your online presence.

Creating a LinkedIn account is one of the best things you can do for your career. But how do you do it? And why is it so important?

After you’ve created your account, the next thing you want to do is get rid of the default picture and bio. Update your info on both- it’s important that they’re accurate. Next, go to "connections." Connect with everyone you’ve worked with over the years, especially people you’re close to, like co-workers, bosses, and any supervisors or managers who can personally recommend you on LinkedIn.

In this video, I walk you through the process of creating a basic LinkedIn profile, and I also discuss some of the benefits of using LinkedIn as a professional resource.
