The feature film shares the true life story of Holocaust survivor Sara Goralnik, a 13-year-old Polish Jew whose entire family was killed by Nazis in September 1942. After a grueling escape to the Ukrainian countryside, Sara passes as her Christian best friend finding refuge in a small village, where she is taken in by a farmer and his young wife. She soon discovers the dark secrets of her employers’ marriage, compounding her own greatest secret that she must strive to protect, her true identity.
The film stars Zuzanna Surowy as Sara and is directed and produced by Steven Oritt, produced by Justyna Pawlak, written by David Himmelstein, with cinematography by Marian Prokop, edited by Agnieszka Glinska and a score by Lukasz Targosz.
Mickey Shapiro and Andy Intrater, USC Shoah Foundation Board of Councilors Executive Committee members, are Executive Producers.
