Navahuga Kugarajah, a Tamil poet, actress, writer, and film director speaks to members of Tamil diaspora from Canada, United States of America, Germany, Finland, United Kingdom, and Norway about the need to support Tamil widows living in poverty. Navayuga is a well-known Tamil movie actress and Tamil community activist.

Navayuga has a great passion to develop and help women improve their livelihood in Tamil community from all parts of Sri Lanka using the medium of cinema. She is determined to reach out to those women who face economic challenges and hardships in life. She has recently directed and produced a short film named, "POTTU" exposing the hardships and challenges faced by Tamil women who have lost their husbands during 2009 war. "Pottu" reflects the devastation of women in North and East after losing their family members and husbands in the war. "POTTU" has gained vast viewership so far.

I call upon the entire Tamil diaspora to come together to support Navayuga in her effort to empower Tamil women in the war affected areas in Sri Lanka. Let’s provide necessary resources to Navayuga, so she can achieve her mission of helping the needy families in all parts of Sri Lanka.
