Miriam Lichterman recalls the smells and tastes of the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah during her childhood in pre-war Warsaw. Miriam survived the Warsaw Ghetto and Auschwitz-Birkenau and Majdanek death camps. Simchat Torah is celebrated this year on Oct. 18.
