Marcus is a 9-year-old boy who lives in Greely, Ontario. His family comes from Haiti and Commonwealth of Dominica, and he loves playing electric guitar. One day, he hopes to become a pop star so he can play in front of huge crowds! He also loves coding and creating video games. He tells us about two of his games – they’re both inspired by Caribbean culture! Then, Marcus shows us how to make his favourite Dominican dishes – yum! – before taking us fishing at his family cottage with his sister Kaiya and his friend Liam.

Sunny’s Quest features first-person stories told by Black children from across the country.  Each episode showcases a different child and their unique perspective on their day-to-day hobbies, their talents, and heritage. This season’s adventures include: a 10-year-old Canadian Haitian gymnast and future Olympic hopeful; an 11-year-old half Jamaican and part-Indigenous boy who found his true passion for dance at a young age and dreams of being a professional hip hop dancer; a 9-year-old boy of  African Nova Scotian/ Guyanese and European Descent who comes from a long line of advocates for racial equality and is following in his family’s footsteps; and many more!
