Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) | Marie Steinaway on Antisemitism | USC Shoah Foundation

Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) occurs this year on April 17-18.

The first Last Chance Collection testimony recorded at Sinclair Broadcasting Groups’s West Palm Beach studio was that of Marie Steinway on January 25, 2023. Marie, a hidden child survivor, described what it was like to lose her childhood, and recounted the miracle of her survival. After the interview, she thanked the team and connected the interview experience with the feeling of being “truly alive.”

In this clip, Marie discusses the prevalence of antisemitism in the past and present.

We continue seeking Holocaust survivors who have not yet recorded their stories with USC Shoah Foundation to be interviewed for our Last Chance Testimony Collection Initiative. To schedule an interview, please complete the form located at https://sfi.usc.edu/last-chance. In-studio interviews are available in Los Angeles, West Palm Beach, and Washington DC. In-home interviews are available across the USA and Canada.

April is Genocide Awareness Month.
