APUS Graduate Studies & Research announces the November 2019 Research Showcase and will include two presentation formats: the familiar APUS Three-Minute Thesis and the new APUS Research Poster.

Start a degree program at American Public University.

The objective is for graduate students to design a presentation version of their capstone project or portfolium. Both formats will provide students with an opportunity to improve their research skills, better promote themselves and fine-tune their public speaking abilities.

The Research Showcase is designed to help graduate students condense their research into a brief, engaging presentation for a general audience. Cash prizes will be awarded to the First Place winner, the Runner-Up and the People’s Choice winner.

What Is the Three-Minute Thesis?

Imagine hearing an 80,000-word thesis explained in less than 180 seconds! Graduate students from across the globe are doing just that in preparation for the Three-Minute Thesis Competition (3MT®). The 3MT was developed by Australia’s University of Queensland to provide a unique opportunity to profile and celebrate the innovative research conducted by graduate students around the world.

What Is the APUS Research Poster?

This will be the first year that the university will also feature the APUS Research Poster. Imagine viewing a research poster that synthesizes core research elements into one creative work.

The APUS Research Poster competition gives students a chance to showcase their own graduate research for a global audience. Current graduate students at American Military/American Public University and alumni of AMU/APU who have graduated since January 1, 2018, are eligible to participate in this year’s Research Showcase.

More specific details on each presentation format, the rules and the competition process will be provided in a Graduate Studies & Research Showcase webinar on August 8. We look forward to seeing you there.
