Now in its second year, the Ranger Program at OLC Innovate will again serve as a social and professional engagement platform. Opportunities to connect new OLC Innovate attendees with returning attendees will be available throughout the conference.
The Ranger Program is looking for Rangers and Ranger Program Participants!
Rangers are members of the OLC community who have previously attended OLC conferences. They volunteer their time to enrich the conference experience for first-time attendees by sharing their knowledge, insight, and experiences in navigating OLC conferences. They volunteer to serve in various roles at the conference including staffing the Ranger Station, serving as tour guides, hosting Talk-abouts, and a host of other informal opportunities, including organizing groups for lunch/dinner outings. Rangers can help first-time attendees to make the most of attending OLC Innovate.
Ranger Program Participants are usually first time attendees to OLC Innovate or attendees who are looking to connect with others to build their professional network. Ranger Program Participants participate in as many Ranger-sponsored activities as desired. In short, signing up for the Ranger program offers participants an easy way to connect and engage through established opportunities and events.
What do others say about their past participation in the Ranger Program?
“I initially took a chance on becoming an OLC Ranger because I felt that it would be a good way to get to know a wider group of attendees, and to give back to a community that I value greatly. I appreciate the fact that the OLC offers all of us in the online education space two opportunities each year to see how the environment is evolving, and being able to offer my time to help others have a great experience is rewarding.”
Andrew Rourke, Director of Teaching Solutions, DigitalEd
“The Ranger program was so welcoming last year with my first time attending OLC Innovate! It helped to know I could ask these folks any question I might have as I wandered around such an amazing array of choices. I appreciated their help so much that I have volunteered to help be a Ranger this year!”
Laura Widenor, Quality Coordinator, Global Campus, Kansas State University
We hope that you will sign up to be a Ranger at this year’s conference, and we look forward to connecting with you online as we prepare for OLC Innovate 2019, April 2-5, in Denver.
