“‘Mediation’ is the latest ELT buzzword. But what exactly is it, and why should you teach it? In this webinar, Thom Kiddle explores the concept of mediation and the illustrative scales devoted to it in the 2018 Companion Volume to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). He will look at how mediation skills are used both inside and outside the classroom, with a particular focus on the mediation skills that teachers use in their everyday practice. He will consider how mediation competences can benefit students in professional and academic life, and how coursebooks help learners develop this.
